EPOCH (
www.epoch-net.org) and the Interactive Institute present Interactive Salon at the EUROGRAPHICS 2007 conference in Prague. The third edition Interactive Salon is a special contribution to this year's Cultural Heritage track of the conference.
The exhibition is showcasing projects from European research institutes, universities and museums that have been invited to demonstrate how new technology and concepts can improve visitor’s experience in art, culture, and historical museums, science centers, and cultural heritage sites.
Five principal types of digital media technologies will be presented at the exhibition: stationary applications, spatially-enveloping and large-scale applications, Internet-based applications, portable and mobile applications, and hybrids between physical and digital objects.
The exhibited projects are results of collaboration of different SMEs, IT companies, foundations, museum content providers, heritage sites, media producers, and research institutes. The purpose of this exhibition is to support cultural heritage institutions in their dialogue with other stakeholders, to allow a greater sharing of expertise, and to disseminate case studies of successful applications of information technologies in cultural heritage.
The Interactive Salon is initiated by EPOCH, Stockholm City Museum and Swedish Forum for Cultural Heritage at the Interactive Institute, Stockholm in collaboration with Czech Technical University, The Institute of Intermedia and EUROGRAPHICS.
